Cijaye DePradine | | Hello All,
Glad to see that action is being taken to interact by all of you! Its exciting that this board is taking on some life.
So why don't we get some conversation going on this thread and encourage others to join in...
Lets start by finding out:
What is the biggest challenge you face in implementing marketing strategies in your business?
*For me...it's time. I have so little of it and can not seem to make more. :o(
Looking forward to the converstaions...Cijaye.Private Reply to Cijaye DePradine |

S C | | Biggest marketing challenge? Having to tell clients I am a marketing consultant, not a miracle worker. Hahaha!
Not to mention the long and tedious route of having to explain exactly what I do for a living. Which means I normally have to begin with the importance of marketing to a business. Invariably, I end up sounding like my college professor. LOL.

Peter O'Connell | | The challenge is geography....I need to be in all english speaking places in about 10 categories of business as much as possible with a yearly marketing budget that might (only might, I tell you) buy me a dozen twinkies....IF they're on sale!
<--My boss is such a tight wad! ;)

Steffen Nielsen | | In regards to the biggest marketing challenges, what I expirience when I work with marketing professionals is TIME, just as Cijaye mentioned. There is a lot of good intentions out there, but many doesn't seem to get around to it. We actually based our business on that fact. By offering turn key exhibit solutions, we save our clients time and "headache"

Katie Bourland | | Hi All -- How fun this is. I know I'm just now taking the time to start use Ryze more effectively and to connect with people.
My biggest marketing challenge is definitely time. The second it staying on focus with income producing activities. Sometimes it becomes so easy to do the admin stuff that I run out of time to make money.
That would be a great discussion for me -- how does everyone stay on task and manage their time effectively?

Cijaye DePradine | | Hmmm...
So, I know that only a few of us have responded to this one - and hopefully others will get involved...but...here's what I have noticed so far:
Among other subjects...most people agree that TIME is a big issue. Not enough time to get things done.
So how do we get around that?
Obviously scheduling our tasks is going to be important - but with our particular industry - and business as a whole, are there not too many interruptions that tend to take over and wreak havoc on the time we do have? (Scheduled or Otherwise)?
So...is it a matter of programming (not permitting ourselves to complete what we schedule before making room for interruptions?) Is it that simple?
What do you think?Private Reply to Cijaye DePradine |

Steffen Nielsen | | Obviously time is about prioritizing. Like everything else in life you have to ask: what is important to you? In this case maybe what is important to your boss :) If someone elses priorities are affecting you, you have to "sell" your ideas. Countless books has been written on this subject. One of the best is still "How to win friends and influence people" If it is only your own time being spent on someting else, I guess it is not important to you!

To answer this question...
I am in the advertising business - specifically media planning.... and so the biggest challenge is to communicate and explain to my client what it is I am proposing... and how to gently turn him away from potentially damaging/ unfruitful media investments...Private Reply to Amita |

Catherine Beers | | I also have a problem with TIME - There just isn't enough of it. And, when I do take time to try to schedule blocks of it to work on this and that, it tends to go haywire. I work from home so my distractions are many. Luckily, I'm childless so I don't have that kind of distraction. To take some of the load off, I am hiring a Virtual Assistant and am looking forward to reclaiming some of that time. :-)
I'm also new to this network. I've been a Ryze member for a year or so but only until recently have I started connecting with it on a daily basis.
Catherine :-)

Harshita Aggrawal | | Hi all... Biggest challenge ofcourse is time... coz TIME is MONEY. At the end of the day we all want to earn MONEY by saving TIME.
The need of strategic marketing arises only because we need to do RIGHT THINGS at RIGHT "TIME" and competition does not wait for u to be right on time.
Planning and scheduling the tasks beforehand - yes, is important but I believe in our kindaa industry which is more situational than planned being proactive and responding is the key.
Your comments????
