Jasmin
Hi everyone!
Am new to this site, and thought to give it go....
Am a consultant in marketing, specialised in the medical and healthcare sector.
I am in the middle of preparing a marketing course for a client (in-house marketing training) and this client is invovled in the medical/healthcare sector.

Was wondering; anyone out there has a few case studies/stories which I could use to highlight some aspect of the marketing mix theory?
Basically i am looking for examples in
1. branding
2. marketing segmentation
3. customer understanding
4. internatinal vs. global marketing strategy
5. product diversification
6. marketing penetration

stories on how companies got it wrong, amusing stories would be very welcome :=)

thanks a bunch in advance
Jasmin (currently Miss Desperate)

Hello Jasmin and welcome to the network,

I am glad that you took the opportunity to give it a go and ask for case studies. While I do think that case studies would be very useful for your client - it might not be as easy to acquire in the detail you are asking.

Maybe you can ask others on the network "if they have a case study of their own that they would be willing to share (for full credit back to their companies) about the success of integrating marketing strategies"...

Taking this approach (by offering credit) would positively activate the laws of reciprocity - which are necessary in the relationship of sharing.

:o)

Hope that made sense and was helpful...

GET THOUSANDS OF $ IN FREE ADVERTISING WITH DYNAMIC
NEWS RELEASES!

What is a news release? Newspapers and magazines all over the country are hungry for news about products and services that will interest their readers. Pick up any publication and you will find illustrations of new products with accompaning copy which gives a description of the item, price and usually the name and address of the person or organization selling the product. A news release is FREE…there is no charge to you to print it. In most cases, it is better than a paid ad because it is located in the best position on the News Editorial Page. Here is how to get your release
Newsworthy!

1) On your letterhead, print your cover letter and submit it to each Editor of each publication that you want your article to appear in. Do not forget to include your contact information (Return Address, Phone Number, Email, and your Hand Written Signature).

2) Include all pertinent information along with the cover letter. Editors would also appreciate a sample of the product if possible.

3) Compile your publicity lists and mail to Editors. Send to as many different Publications as you are able to,using the shotgun approach. Specialty Publications for you particular product or service should be priority publicatins. Sunday and Holiday issues usually are looking for articles, so make sure you contact the editors about these.

Note: You can send the Editors A Cover Letter, the Press Release and Pertinent Information for minimum postage charges, usually under $1.00, so that means you could mail 500 of them for about $500. If only 10% of them ran your article, that is 50 Free Editorials worth many thousands of dollars to you in Advertising. You are also reaching tens if not hundreds of thousands of readers, which will translate into many, many orders for you. If you had to pay for Ads in these publications, could you afford to pay for 50 quarter page Ads in these same publications, running at the same time? I think not!

We have many great copywriters on this Network, I incorporate Two of the very best . They are Cathy Qazalbash and Steven Boaze. Steven and Cathy can and will write a press release for you that is litteraly worth it’s weight in gold. Plus the fact they know just how to present an article and exactly who to present the article to. I would advise anyone who wants to have their business in a successful light, to contact Steven, Cathy or any one of the other Proven Good Copywriters on this Network Right Now! Hello Cijaye ,
Thanks for the tip. Yes - think that would be a better way of receiving some "hands on" experience cast studeis to illustrate how marketing is used in various companies, in the same industry.
It is difficult though, to get the stories where marketing managers simply had no idea what they were doing (marketing blunders) which often happens, when the mkt mgr is concentrating on the numbers, and forgets the customer. (not always his fault, by the way. That is head-office culture).

I doubt a company wants to be credited with that....

However, it is via the mistakes and experiences of others, is when we learn.

regards
Jasmin
