Amul Kapadia | | well aditi, perhaps ,a good idea would be to ... a)do a situation analysis i.e consumer/market analysis. b)a marketing programme i.e advertising, sales force, price, promotions and pr. c)draw out an advertising plan i.e.obejectives/segmentation/positioning then devise a MESSAGE STRATEGY AND TACTICS. d)finally implmentation....i.e finalising an ad agency to implement all of the above....
in a real world all of the above means firstly to understand the needs of your consumers in light of what the competition is offering.... next to assess your own marketing strengths and weaknesses and thus evolve a plan that optimizes effectiveness and lastly get a good ad agency to execute it for ya ! cheers and good luck amul kapadia Private Reply to Amul Kapadia |

Devendra Singh | | Hi Aditi, its really nice to see that you want to create something of your own.
Whatever Amul said i don't disagree with that as that is a critical aspect of getting visibility in the marketplace. But i think what you need is to figure out for what your academy stands for ex: it wants to educate housewives, older people, kids, or you want to provide job oriented computer training classes.
Once you figure out that you will see that you have the answers for most of the questions.
Even after this you think you need more insight you can always right me back. Private Reply to Devendra Singh |

Cijaye DePradine | | Hello Aditi,
I too agree with what the others have to say...but here are some additional thoughts that you should consider:
1) What is your niche? (*In a market like this you need one). What key problem are you solving?
2) Then how do you communicate that? What is the RIGHT language to get the attention of people with the same problem? *How does that differ from the competition?
3) Then what is your game plan to execute? Products, services, objectives, strategies, tactics, forecasting etc.
Then you should have NO doubts about what to do and how to do it?
Do you know how to effectively research your market?

Well ,
if i am not mistaken you are running an animation/web design/graphics academy..Computer eductaion have had its own peak times in India ..today the flip side is there are too many institues/road side shops and corporate franchisees all offering similar stuff .There are two ways of increasing traffic to your institute :
1.You provide job placement assistance 2.You work in synergy with other education institutes e.g Commerce/Science Classes
Last idea is to rethink on your investments and acquisitions ..and intiate another LOB ...to make it sound simple you have access to "n" number of computers/infrastructure/human resources with basic design/animation skills and start from there ....there are many new LOB's possible
a) You cud provide editing/design solutions to corporates b) you cud provide Business process outsourcing to domestic/offshore clients c)You cud outsource all that to somone as a packaged deal e) you cud run parallel education lines like soft skills/basics training to housewives etc ..
The game lies in thinking out of the box and fast .....
Hope that makes sense ...
